A Tribute to Servant of God Rani Maria – 20th death anniversary

The Church of India paid homage to the Servant of God Rani Maria on her 20th death anniversary at Udaynagar, Indore. The commemoration was held on 25th February 2015at the specially prepared stage in front of Santhi Sadan Church, Udaynagar where the tomb of Sr. Rani Maria is situated. During the homily the Major Archbishop stated that the heroic death of Sr. Rani Maria was a martyrdom for Christian love. The missionary activities launched by her continued till now is a clear witness that the spirit of Sr. Rani Maria is still alive and active here. Even now Christians are persecuted in different parts of the world only because of their faith in Christ Jesus. Whatever may be the crisis or persecutions, the love of Christ will be transmitted to the generations. All the faithful are equal in the sharing of the love of Christ though the language and culture are different. Sr. Rani Maria is one of the most beautiful flowers nurtured in the missionary garden of the Syro-Malabar Church. She was called the ‘Smiling Rani’ as she was happy to follow the Lord in the midst of all kinds of difficulties without any complaint.
